Supporting Placement Providers
Practice Learning is a mandatory component of all our pre-registration health programmes. During placements, students are supported in practice by a network of professionals, which may include practice supervisors, practice assessors /educators, personal academic coaches and link lecturers. We are committed to ensuring high-quality practice learning environments that support student development and meet professional standards.
These pages are designed to support both current and prospective placement providers. Whether you already support our students or are considering becoming a placement provider, you will find practical guidance, key resources, documentation and contact information to help you navigate practice learning across our health programmes.

Raising Concerns
Raising concerns early helps us respond appropriately, protect safe learning and practice, and identify any support or action needed. If you have a concern about a student, a placement area or an experience in practice please tell us through the link below.
Support and Wellbeing on Placement
Placements are a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in your chosen profession. However, they can also feel like a demanding time, bringing new pressures and challenges. The guide below is designed to help you prioritise your wellbeing throughout your placement.
We offer a diverse range of placement opportunities across NHS hospital and community settings, private healthcare organisations, voluntary, charitable, and independent sectors.
Placement Administration Team
The Placement Administration team is responsible for the coordinating and logistics of student placements, including: placement allocation, occupational health clearance and mandatory training tracking.
Note: DBS clearance is managed by the DSB team at dbs@uos.ac.uk
We work closely with placement providers to ensure placements are suitable and beneficial for both students and host organisations.
When allocating placements, we consider:
- Known reasonable adjustments
- Students’ term-time addresses
- Driving status
Students are not normally expected to travel more than one hour from their term-time address to their allocated placement.

Students are required to complete a number of clearances before attending practice.
PamS is an online platform used by students to complete their placement timesheets, view allocations, and view summary of placement hours.
Using the ePAD & eMORA
Access to the ePAD or eMORA is only available after your student invites you to their practice document. Students can invite a Practice Supervisor to the relevant sections themselves within the system.
If a student has attempted to invite a Practice Assessor but is unable to locate the details in the system please ask the PEF team within the Trust to email us to confirm your Practice Assessor status. They can do this by emailing placementadmin@uos.ac.uk . For anyone outside of a trust, please email us at the same address to request access.

The 2023 to 2024 year marked the "Year of Sustainability" by the Vice Chancellor; this document highlights what we did, as well as highlighting progress in other areas, including on utilities, biodiversity, waste, and travel, and attaining a "highly compliant" external sustainability audit result.

Highlights this year include much progress on our key themes, including habitats, waste, travel, and energy, culminating in us being top of the HESA tables for our decarbonisation of Scope 1 & 2 emissions compared to the baselines, and being named Green Business of the Year by Suffolk County Council

Highlights from this year's work include the foundations of the Building Management System upgrade, securing renewable energy guarantee of origin certification for approx 90% of our energy, near completion of the Smart House at Digitec, and LED lighting upgrades across campus.

Highlights from this year's work include setting an Estate's target for carbon neutrality in scopes 1 and 2 and net zero in scope 3, 77% decrease in carbon emissions since the 2015 baseline, installation of 48kWp solar panels, creation of a wildlife garden and a wildflower meadow, and more.
