Overview

Develop your creative and practical abilities in fashion and textiles under professional expertise in our well-equipped studio spaces.

You will be encouraged to experiment and explore ideas, as well as develop finished products from sketchbooks to final outcomes. You will explore various areas of fashion and textiles including pattern construction, garment manufacture, printed, knitted, woven and embroidered textiles. Benefiting from regular visits to museums, galleries and fashion trade events, which in the past have included Premier Vision in Paris and Printsource in New York, as well as visits to other European cities. You will also have the opportunity to specialise and develop further practical skills to a personal conclusion, presenting your work in exhibitions and/or on the catwalk.

Research can be undertaken using the excellent community learning resource centre with subscriptions to trade publications, online facilities and the networked learning environment.

How to Apply Entry Requirements Explained

Applicants will be expected to attend an interview with supporting portfolio as part of the application process.

IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components) where English is not the students' first language. You can read more about our English language requirements here. 

Applicants whose first language is not English, but who have been living in the UK for 2 years or more will be expected to hold GCSE English at Grade C or above, (grade 4-9 for the new GCSEs) or the relevant equivalent (if applicable).
