Overview

The FdSc in Forensic Sciences intends to provide a solid knowledge-base to foster and enhance enthusiasm for Forensic Science and to develop transferable scientific skills. Through the practical application of knowledge you will acquire the knowledge, skills and attributes required by employers in forensic laboratories and scientific support services.  You will study a range of modules- some designed to develop your wider scientific and laboratory knowledge and skills – and some to develop the specific skills and attributes needed to work in forensic science.

The FdSc provides a programme for students wishing to build their skills, knowledge and understanding further to progress into the laboratory science sector. Students will study a range of laboratory linked modules and will complete their studies by completing a sector relevant project.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

80 UCAS tariff points (or above)

  • CDD (A-Level)
  • MMP (BTEC)
  • Pass A*-C (T Level)
  • QCF/NQF level 3 attainment comprising two years full-time post 16 education
  • Successful completion of a Science Foundation course or relevant Access to Higher Education course is also recognised as acceptable for entry on to the programme

 

 

How to Apply Entry Requirements Explained

Applicants must have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent), which must include Mathematics, English Language and also Science (unless the level 3 offer is in a direct science subject).
Candidates for admission shall be at least 17 years of age on or before the date of commencement to their programme of study.

Entry Requirements

IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components) where English is not the students' first language.
