Introduction

This course is designed to facilitate Health Visitors and School Nurses who have a Post Graduate qualification in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing to attain a full Masters degree. By building on previous postgraduate study undertaken for specialist practice (SCPHN) this course continues the development of critical thinking skills required to provide high level judgement and clinical decision making in contemporary public health nursing.

Course modules

There is just one mandatory double module within this course which is the Dissertation Module which provides 60 credits at Level 7.

Entry requirements

Academic Requirements
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing 
  • Current registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (NMC register).

International Requirements

IELTS 6.5 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components) where English is not the students' first language.

Tier 4 international students are not able to register on this course however we welcome interest from international students not wishing to apply for Tier 4.

Transferring Credit

If you have previously studied at higher education level before you may be able to transfer credits to a related course at the University of Suffolk and reduce the period of study time necessary to achieve your degree.
