Connection Week

As part of our 10-year celebration, we’re looking to reconnect with our alumni community by sharing the photos, videos and stories that capture your time as a University of Suffolk student.

We’d love to feature your memories across our social media channels and celebrate the experiences, friendships and moments that have made our alumni community so special. Whether it’s a favourite campus spot, Freshers’ Week memories, graduation celebrations, course trips, placements or creative projects from your time at Suffolk, we want to hear your stories.

We’re also looking back at the places that made student life in Ipswich memorable, from your favourite coffee spots and lunch locations to the pubs, venues and nights out that became part of your university experience.

Tell us about your time at Suffolk: what you studied, your favourite university memories, societies you were involved in, and what student life and fashion looked like during your time here. To take part, send us a direct message or email socialmedia@uos.ac.uk with your photos, videos and memories. We can’t wait to look back on the last decade of moments and celebrate them with our alumni community.

Our daily online sessions run from 12.30–1pm, Monday to Friday, exploring a range of topics and stories from across the University. You can join us live or catch up at a time that suits you.

This year’s series celebrates 10 years of the University of Suffolk, featuring conversations with Professor Jenny Higham and Dionne Walton, alongside sessions exploring Knowledge Exchange Partnerships, postgraduate study, and the impact of donations in supporting our University community and future ambitions.

Creative Café

Creative Café with Mars El Brogy

Organised by the Suffolk Centre for Culture and Heritage as part of Connection Week, join journalist and award-winning multimedia executive producer Mars El Brogy to discover how digital strategies can be used to boost platforms and brands, while keeping creativity fun and collaborative.

Mars will share insights into creating energised networks and playful paths to professional impact, exploring how creativity, collaboration and digital thinking can inspire others and open up new opportunities.

Mars El Brogy is a journalist and award-winning multimedia executive producer. She started her career in independent television production and has worked for All3 Media-owned Maverick TV, the BBC and BBC Worldwide. She was part of the launch team of ESI Media’s London Live before becoming Group Head of Video Production for the Evening Standard and The Independent. She writes for Good Food and has contributed to The Telegraph.

Passionate about fostering new talent, Mars is a patron of the National Student Television Association and established the Mars Elkins-El Brogy Award for Multimedia Content. A former Royal Television Society Midlands Hon Sec, Mars is a member of the ITV Anglia Inclusion and Diversity (East) group and is Hon Sec of the RTS East committee. She is currently Managing Editor of online publication Hyphen and is part of the first cohort of the NFTS Create x Connect Digital News training programme, which is partnered with the BBC and YouTube.

SUFFOLK SALUTES

Thursday 1 October 2026

Join us for TEDx University of Suffolk, Ipswich's first-ever TEDx event.

Under the theme "Building a Better Suffolk", seven speakers will share ideas, innovations and discoveries that have the potential to shape the future of our region. Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present their research and insights to a live audience.

This event will take place at The Hold and doors will be open from 5pm.
