Ten years ago, the University of Suffolk was granted degree-awarding powers, marking the start of our journey as an independent university.

That milestone built on years of ambition. Suffolk was one of only four counties without a university when University Campus Suffolk started teaching nine years earlier, with the parental oversight of the Universities of East Anglia and Essex. With the development of our Waterfront and James Hehir buildings, we laid the foundations for a university that would transform the region.

We didn't do it alone. Businesses, organisations and individuals across Suffolk and beyond believed in our vision and helped make it a reality.

Together, we've achieved a great deal. We've been named University of the Year in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2025 and climbed into the UK's top 50 universities in the latest Complete University Guide.

Now we invite all our supporters, partners, alumni and community to celebrate all that we've achieved together and to help shape what comes next for the University of Suffolk.

Since 2016, our impact has reached far beyond our campus. Our graduates are building careers and strengthening local businesses, law firms, hospitals and healthcare services. Our staff have driven excellence in teaching, research and student experience. We've contributed to Suffolk's cultural life, supported economic growth and helped create opportunities across the region.

Our year-long 10th anniversary programme includes Ipswich’s first TEDx event, hosting speakers at the Ipswich Book Festival, a Christmas fayre, art exhibitions and a series of inspiring open lectures around the county. Thank you, Suffolk, for being part of our story. Here's to the next decade of impact.
