Joseph Western, Performance Analyst at Ipswich Town FC

Joseph graduated in 2021 from the University of Suffolk and went on to work for Ipswich Town Football Club as the U18’s Performance Analyst.

Joseph says, “The course at the University was very practical and gave me a lot of experience in using a wide range of analysis software. The facilities that are in place created a great environment to work in and aided me to develop my skillset. The internship opportunities at the University with industry partners allowed me to gain valuable experience with Ipswich Town Football Club alongside my studying, which definitely helped me gain a full-time role with the club upon graduation.

Sean McManus, Performance Analyst at Tottenham Hotspur FC

Sean graduated from the University of Suffolk in 2020, after which he took on the role of Performance Analyst at Tottenham Hotspur FC. Sean says, “The University of Suffolk gave me an invaluable experience that has given me the opportunity to pursue a career in Performance Analysis. The course was specifically geared towards football which gave me opportunities to build foundations and develop skills that I have continued to use in my career. The staff were always available to support my work and I was able to learn from their experiences, which was very important for me. Finally, the University’s links with Ipswich Town gave me my first exposure to a professional environment where I developed my skill set and built relationships with other industry professionals that I am still in contact with.

Charlie Harwood, Performance Analyst at Norwich City FC

Charlie graduated from the University of Suffolk in 2020, after which he took on the role of Loans & Recruitment Analyst for Norwich City Football Club Academy.

Charlie says, “I really enjoyed my time studying at the University of Suffolk, especially the practical elements of the course. It exposed me to the highly specialised software that is used within professional football clubs which allowed me to hit the ground running when entering clubs on my internships and placements. Overall, I felt very prepared and well equipped upon graduating the University and believe it put me in good stead to get my full time role in professional football which is Loans & Recruitment Analyst for Norwich City Academy.
