Okanda Anushka Jinasekara is a dedicated dental professional with a strong academic and clinical background, having graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2009. He went on to serve in the Ministry of Health and the Faculty of Dental Sciences, Peradeniya, before completing an MD in Restorative Dentistry at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo—specialist training that shaped his expertise in restorative care. His career then expanded internationally, working as an Honorary Clinical Fellow at the University of Dundee under NHS Tayside, where he gained valuable experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research.

Currently, Mr. Jinasekara serves as a Dental Simulation Lab Instructor, blending his clinical knowledge with a passion for education and innovation. His research interests lie in micronutrients in periodontitis, treatment approaches for periodontal disease, and the applications of zirconia crowns. Alongside this, he has a strong passion for invention and the development of novel educational tools, aiming to transform how dental training is delivered. Through his academic, clinical, and innovative contributions, Mr. Jinasekara continues to inspire the next generation of dental professionals while advancing the boundaries of dentistry.

Mr. Okanda Anushka Jinasekara has expertise in dental education, with a focus on simulation-based teaching and clinical skills training. He has experience delivering curricula, mentoring students, and supporting assessments at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through roles at the University of Peradeniya and the University of Dundee. Currently a Dental Simulation Lab Instructor, he is passionate about developing innovative educational tools and methods to enhance learning in restorative dentistry and periodontology.

Dr. Okanda Anushka Jinasekara’s research focuses on restorative dentistry, with particular interests in zirconia crowns and the role of micronutrients in periodontitis. He has experience in both clinical and laboratory-based research, alongside knowledge exchange through teaching, conferences, and collaborative projects. His work bridges academic inquiry and practical application, aiming to improve treatment outcomes while advancing dental education and practice.
