Transformation Ten Adult Nursing Bursary

The ALBORADA Trust has generously donated to support ten qualifying students studying the University of Suffolk’s BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing degree who will be awarded a bursary of £3500 each academic year for three years.  

The ambition is that the bursary will enable students with talent and tenacity from a low-income background or underrepresented group to study at the University of Suffolk.   

 

  • Students must have made their application for their degree within the main UCAS cycle (on or before 30 June 2026) 
  • Have met the academic conditions of their offer of a place on the course by 31 August 2026
  • Living in a Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex postcode OR attending a School/College in a Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex postcode (and having completed their studies at the School/College in either 2025 or 2026)   
  • Living in an area within Quintile 1in the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD)  (indices of deprivation
  • Identifies with an underrepresented characteristic, which includes:
    • Students who are over the age of 21 at the start of their course and therefore considered to be a ’mature student’
    • Care Leaver, live or have lived in local authority care, or 
    • Students with a declared disability as indicated on their UCAS application form  
  • Show satisfactory attendance and engagement with their course in line with the Student Attendance and Engagement Policy 
  • Not in debt to the University at the point at which bursary payments are made. 

Criteria will be prioritised in the order above and qualifying candidates ranked accordingly. In the event of more than 10 students meeting all the criteria, the panel will consider prior achievement and Interview scores.  

All offer-holders for BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing will be automatically assessed for eligibility for the award after confirmation of qualifications achieved (early September), and final decisions will be made early in the academic year of Level 4, 2026/2027 entry.  

Successful students must provide bank details as part of their enrolment at the University.  

The bursary will be awarded in two equal instalments on 30 November and 30 April each academic year.
