The University of Suffolk Careers, Employability and Enterprise Team run a variety of events and activities throughout the year. We offer events through a hybrid approach, enabling us to connect students to an even greater selection of organisations from around the world. This also means that students can frequently access events, even if they are not able to attend campus, or can watch workshops and webinars back in their own time if they were unable to attend on the day.
Events can include:
- Careers fairs, days and weeks, with activity both in-person and online covering a broad range of industries, and specific sectors.
- Webinars, workshops and panels, either in-person, online or both. In 2022, we launched a weekly webinar series, connecting a new organisation and their opportunities with our students every single week in term. Where possible, these are recorded and stored on our Brightspace (the student VLE) to enable students to watch at a later date
- Interactive activities, including mock assessment centres and training days
- Bootcamps and Weekenders to support students and graduates pursuing business start-ups
- Employer drop-ins on campus, with many bringing lunch or refreshments with them to make sure that you can still connect with them, and have time for lunch. Check out this feedback from local SME, Coderus.
and more!

Make a Difference Social Enterprise Programme November 4th, 5th, 9th & 16th
This was the University's first Make a Difference Social Enterprise Program, which was designed for anyone who had the desire to make a difference or had an aspiration to set up a business with a positive social, environmental or cultural impact. Equally, we encouraged individuals who would like to learn more about social enterprise, real-life global challenges and develop new skills that can be applied to any business.
On the first evening there was a meet and greet with some guest speakers. Pizza was provided and a thought provoking Escape room challenge.
The second day was all about working in teams or as individuals to develop ideas and solutions to these real-life global challenges
The third day was a follow up session where participants will work with their mentors to develop a pitch on the ideas they had developed the day before.
And the final day was a chance to pitch their ideas and receive one of three micro-grants worth £500.
