Christmas goodies and everyday essentials have been delivered to two churches thanks to the generosity of staff and students at the University of Suffolk.

Top-Up shops at Ipswich’s River Church and St Helen’s Church each got a trolley loaded with items which were collected at the university’s Ipswich campus in the run up to Christmas.

University chaplain, the Rev Linda Pepper, said she was overwhelmed with people’s generosity.

“People have been so very generous and kind, thinking of others at this time of year, and a huge thank you goes to everyone who has donated.

“These donations will make a huge difference to local people who visit the Top-Up shops at the two churches.

“Everyone at both churches were overjoyed with our donations.”

The Top-Up shops projects runs at churches across Ipswich where people pay £2 for a bag of items.
