Overview
This qualification is designed for those working in, or preparing to work in, any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. It is a prerequisite for anyone who wishes to hold a personal licence. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licenced premises must hold a personal licence.
Persons gaining this qualification will understand the main requirements of the Licensing Act 2003, the importance of promoting the licensing objectives and the legal responsibilities of a personal licence holder. Upon successful completion of this qualification (which maps to QCF: 603/2597/5), you will be able to apply through your local council for a Personal Licence.
The course is interactive and is assessed by an online multiple-choice written assessment. Additional 1:1 support is available on request. There is a minimum age requirement of 18 years of age or above.
Event / Tourism / Hospitality Leisure professionals organising events selling alcohol and / or providing entertainment, such as music, dancing or indoor sporting events are encouraged to obtain a Personal Licence.

All participants will need to show photographic identification which should be one of the following when registering.
- A valid passport (any nationality)
- A signed UK photocard driving licence
