Sue supports the Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate team at the University of Suffolk. Sue is responsible for all research engagement activities and research governance within the RKE Directorate, which comprises the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office, Research Institutes and Suffolk Doctoral College. Sue is also the Committee Secretary for Research & Knowledge Exchange Committee and Research and Enterprise Committee and manages the RKE Systems Administrator post. As PA to Pro Vice-Chancellor, RKE to Professor Emma Bond, Sue manages diary commitments, monitors all the RKE, SDC and UKRI budgets and deals with all research related matters arising in the PVC-RKE's office.
Sue has previously worked in the University as PA to the Dean of School for Law and Social Sciences to Professor Noel Smith.
Sue has a BSc (Hons) degree in Geography and has over 34 years experience working in the public, private and voluntary sectors. She has previously worked as Chapman Centre Manager - running a day centre for homeless people and has also worked in other notable charities in Ipswich as well as working for Suffolk Police, Ipswich Member of Parliament's office and at University College London to name a few.
Outside of work, Sue is a qualified trainer and is involved with community engagements. She is an experienced Trustee and board member and volunteers in several charities in Ipswich. Sue is often seen leading Ipswich and Mansion tour groups for worldwide visitors and is involved in the town's culture and heritage sector.
