Stephen Walford

Stephen is the Head of Research Management in the University of Suffolk Research Office.

Stephen is responsible for delivering a responsive and efficient research grants and funding service.  His main responsibilities are the oversight of pre-award research grant services, research contract management, and joint delivery of post-award research grant services in partnership with Finance and Planning.  He also works closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research to provide insight into the University’s research grant portfolio and the external research environment, supporting internal research investment decisions and the development and delivery of University of Suffolk Research Strategy.

Stephen has worked in the Higher Education Sector for over 14 years within senior professional services positions at King’s College London, University of Cambridge, and University College London.  He holds a PgCert in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Administration and a BA (Hons) in Business Studies.
