Sarah trained at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup, Kent and qualified as an adult nurse in 1985. After qualifying, Sarah specialised in primary nursing and qualified as a trained district nurse in 2004.
Sarah completed case management MSc modules at the University of Essex in 2006 including independent prescribing and worked as a community matron specialising in complex case management and admission avoidance in North and South Uttlesford.
To complement her extensive knowledge of primary care - Sarah completed her MSc in Public Health in 2017 at Aru Chelmsford where she was offered a senior lecturer post in non medical prescribing.
Sarah completed her PG cert in learning and teaching in Higher Education in 2019 and became a fellow in higher education.
In 2019 Sarah moved to the University of Hertfordshire where she continued her teaching as a senior lecturer in Non medical prescribing for 3 years.
A house move in 2022 enabled Sarah to secure the lead at the University of Suffolk in independent prescribing working with a passionate and invested team.
Sarah is a member of the Advanced HE and has worked as an external examiner on the independent prescribing programme at the University of Lincoln. She is currently an external examiner in Independent prescribing at City University in London.
