Career Overview

Prior to joining the University of Suffolk Richard was a Lecturer in Counselling at Colchester Institute, Essex.  In addition to a background in industry, Richard has worked in support roles within Social Services and the NHS, where he was involved in various Stop Smoking campaign services.

Richard began his counselling practice in 2007, working with clients recovering from the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol and other addictions, as well as providing support for family members affected by these issues.  He now has a small private practice as a Supervisor and UKCP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and works with both long and short term clients with a wide range of mental health issues.
