After completing a BA (Hons) and then a MSc at UCS, Jonathan (Jay) has been lecturing at the Suffolk Business School in Events, Tourism, Hospitality and Business Management modules. He is an advocate of life skills and life-long learning and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Jonathan is a people, project, business and events manager with over 20 years of professional experience in public, private and the community sectors.  He has a great track record as a lecturer/trainer, is passionate about learning and development; driven to succeed, and thrives on challenge.  He enjoys achievement not only as an individual but positively through others.  He is regularly involved in working in the events and tourism industry and is able to act as a conduit providing current information and knowledge to students.

With many years business experience, he is an inspirational manager with the ability to motivate and empower individuals to develop their own career potential whilst achieving stretching project and academic targets, financials and key deliverables. Recognised and respected as a key people leader both in staff and volunteer teams which he manages. He works with integrity; results and action-oriented whilst initiating, maintaining and developing relationships with all colleagues, customers and suppliers. Driven by achievement with the capability to plan, lead, organise and manage concurrent responsibilities within a competitive and challenging work environment; resource manager, with quality and detail focus. He has exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well; builds rapport quickly, demonstrates listening, great judgement and decisiveness.
