Senior Lecturer in the School of Technology, Business and Arts, Jonathan was previously an event professional, business manager and owner of small businesses having worked in the Public, Private and Voluntary/Community sectors for many years.  Looking at developing his skills he became an undergraduate student on the Event and Management degree which was followed by a Masters degree in Business Management.  Whilst on these courses he was asked to teach on some modules and later being employed as a lecturer. He became the Programme Leader for Events and Tourism in 2017 and in 2020 also became responsible for the Marketing Management programme.

Jonathan has been part of the University wide Learning, Teaching and Assessment Committee and was involved in producing the Access and Participation Plan with a focus on Mental Health.  With nominations and short listings for Best Personal Tutor/Most Inspiring Lecturer awards over several years, he has a keen interest in promoting the student experience to the full.  He is an advocate for students having regular opportunities for regular work/volunteer placement for developing their skills as well as them meeting with industry professionals at conferences and in the classroom.

In addition to this, he is also part of the Centre for Academic & International Partnerships team and a Link Academic Tutor.
