Carolyn has recently been appointed as the Head of Placements and Health Partnerships with the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Public Health , following a 20-month secondment as the Health Placements Expansion Officer. The role focuses on quality enhancement and will lead on the strategic development of practice placements, placement stakeholder engagement, workforce development for pre and post registration curricula.

Carolyn has been employed at University of Suffolk since November 2007, and during this time has undertaken significant continuing professional and staff development.  This has enabled Carolyn to progress several times during this time.  During the early years Carolyn gained a Foundation Degree in Leadership and Management, which she feels was the start to the beginning of a new career pathway.

Carolyn is a member of the School Executive Team, and an active member of the Association of University Administrators (AUA).  In January 2023 Carolyn was awarded Fellow of the AUA’, for ‘demonstrating a substantial commitment to their continuing professional development, the continuing professional development of others and the impact and influence this has had on higher education administration and management in relation to the AUA’s CPD framework of professional behaviours’.

Outside of work Carolyn enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, reading, and watching sport – especially Ipswich Town and Arsenal.
