Carolyn has been working in administration roles for many years and is currently seconded as the Health Placements Expansion Officer within the School of Health and Sports Science.
Before joining University of Suffolk, Carolyn lived for 12 years in Cape Town, South Africa where she ran her own business's. In 2002 Carolyn returned to Ipswich, her hometown. Outside of work Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and watching sport - especially Ipswich Town and Arsenal.
Carolyn started working at University of Suffolk in November 2007 as a Course Administrator for the Continuing Professional Development study within the Faculty of Health. Carolyn has since been promoted to Senior Course Administrator, Assistant Course Administration Manager and in January 2020 was promoted to Course Administration Manager, now Academic Administration Manager. Her main responsibilities included monitoring the HEE funding contract and line managing a large team of Course Administrators.
In July 2011 Carolyn was the recipient of the university staff award in the Unsung hero category. In 2012, whilst working at the University and studying part-time, Carolyn gained a Foundation Degree in Leadership and Management with University of Suffolk, Ipswich. In April 2022 she will commence a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Administration, Management & Leadership.
Carolyn is a member of the Association of University Administrators (AUA).
