Build Your Future

Enhanced Careers, Employability and Enterprise support

The University of Suffolk is a diverse and vibrant community and is committed to providing equality of opportunity for all. In the Careers, Employability and Enterprise Team we strive to promote inclusivity and to support students from all walks of life to develop their employability, explore their future plans and make a successful transition to their chosen post-graduate destination.

We know that some students face additional barriers in working towards and achieving their next steps. That’s why we’ve developed the Build Your Future opt-in scheme, offering enhanced support and targeted opportunities for students who may identify with one or more of the below statements:

  • have a disability or long-term health condition, including mental health
  • are neurodivergent
  • are care experienced or estranged from parents
  • are first in their family to go to university (excluding siblings)
  • are from a home postcode area where participation in Higher Education is low.

This opt-in scheme offers exclusive opportunities to enhance employability, grow confidence and build networks.

  • Access to ring-fenced Micro-Placements, paid opportunities to help build experience and employability.
  • Access to ring-fenced funding in the Inspiring Futures Fund. Click the link for more information, including the application process and full terms & conditions.
  • A dedicated online space to keep to date with events on the programme and access targeted resources.
  • Priority booking for many of our workshops, plus exclusive workshops and events just for members of the scheme.
  • Targeted support for those interested in the idea of starting their own business, now in the future.

Current students can find out more about Build Your Future, including how to register, in the Careers, Employability and Enterprise section of the Student Hub
