Enrolment FAQs - New Starters
Enrolment is the online process in which you have the opportunity to check that all your details are correct, confirm your module selections and select how your fees will be paid. Enrolment is mandatory and all students must enrol at the start of their course, and again at the start of each subsequent academic year.
The enrolment period for courses starting in September/October will be between August and September and courses starting in January/February will be able to enrol between December and January. Ideally, you need to complete your enrolment promptly when you are invited to do so, and before your induction (the first day of your welcome week, before teaching starts). The release of your tuition fees and any maintenance payments is dependent on your enrolment being completed.
You will be advised by the Admissions Team when your enrolment is ready to complete via the Applicant Area.
To complete your enrolment, you need to click on the ‘Complete Online Enrolment’ link available in the Manage My Application section of the Applicant Area. This will take you directly to the start of your enrolment form.
If you experience any difficulties during the completion of your enrolment please use the Help button at the bottom of each page. Alternatively, you are welcome to drop into the Student Centre for support in completing your enrolment. There are certain questions that we are required to ask in accordance with government guidelines/acts (e.g. the Equality Act), agreements such as our agreement with the Office for Students regarding Access and Participation or for statistical purposes. On these types of questions we offer an explanation via the question mark button located next to the question.
Please double-check you have completed all mandatory questions – often this happens because a question has been overlooked. If you’re having difficulty with a particular question, please check any guidance (accessible via a question mark button next to the question) before contacting the Student Centre.
This happens for one of two reasons: either an error has been identified with your enrolment records and is being fixed in the background, or you have submitted a help request and we have suspended your enrolment whilst someone looks into your question. In both cases, you will be notified as soon as the issue is resolved. If you have not heard back after 3 working days please contact the Student Centre.
Providing you have completed your enrolment and uploaded your photograph three working days before your first day on campus, you will receive your card when you arrive and register. If you have been unable to complete your enrolment and upload a photo before arrival, staff will be on hand to help you with this process. If you have ever studied with us before, we may still have an old photo and therefore will not ask for a new one to be uploaded.
