An Introduction to Brightspace

Get to know Brightspace — your new virtual learning environment at the University of Suffolk!

Brightspace is the platform you will use to access your course content, module guides, assessment submission portals and your future results! Brightspace is also home to the Student Hub, which provides useful information on all services and support at the University.  

Welcome Module

From 9 December 2024, you will be able to log into Brightspace and explore our specially designed ‘Welcome Module’ for January and February 2025 starters. Not only will this give you a chance to experience Brightspace, but we’ve brought together information to help prepare you for your first few days at the University of Suffolk.  

When you have enrolled, you will have access to your course modules and content. Enrolment will commence from the end of August onwards, depending on which course you are on. 

How to log in

When you applied to the University, you were allocated a student number. Your university email will be your student number followed by @uos.ac.uk, for example, S123456@uos.ac.uk. Please use this email format to log into Brightspace. Don’t forget to complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as well.

Brightspace is enabled for mobile devices, too! We'd encourage you to download the Brightspace Pulse app, available on Google Play and the App Store, so you never miss a notification and have easy access to your course materials.
