75 Grimwade Street was purpose built for our students, being situated right next door to the Ipswich campus.

The building is 300 metres from the Waterfront Building, a 3-minute walk. The town centre is approximately 10-minutes’ walk away and the train station is a 20-minute walk. 

This property is available to students in any year of study but may be of particular interest to:

  • Continuing students
  • Students looking for more independent living
  • Student friendship groups looking to live together

Each single occupancy bedroom has its own ensuite in the 49 bedrooms halls of residence. The room is furnished with a bed, bedside cabinet, chest of drawers, wardrobe, shelving, study desk and chair, and curtains or window blind. The ensuite includes a lavatory, sink and shower. Each floor contains at least one communal kitchen/living area with dedicated cupboards for students and a set of cooking facilities for every five students. Washing machines are available in the kitchen/living areas.

There are no car parking facilities available at 75 Grimwade Street for residents; students requiring car parking would be advised to make their own car parking arrangements elsewhere or to consider alternative accommodation with parking facilities if they require their car to get to a placement as part of their course. The University of Suffolk parking permit is for students (and staff) commuting in daily; students living in 75 Grimwade Street should not be parking their car in the University, the Wharf or Athena Hall car parks.

75 Grimwade Street operates an early booking reward policy — as rooms fill the prices increase. There is a deposit of £100 on all tenancies. The above tenancies are aimed at September starters. For students starting a course in January/February, or deciding to take accommodation part way through the academic year should contact hello@amigo-living.com direct to enquire further.  

We strongly recommend you request and read a tenancy agreement, booking terms and conditions and cancellation policy before making a booking.

It is likely you will need to pay the deposit and sum of advanced rent before the first instalment of student finance is due to you. We strongly recommend that students plan for this and save for their deposit/advanced rent over the months leading up to the start of the tenancy agreement.

75 Grimwade Street is managed by Amigo Living. If you are intending to take accommodation at 75 Grimwade Street, you will be required to sign up to a tenancy agreement with Amigo Living. There is no legal connection with the University of Suffolk. It is your responsibility to understand and agree/sign the tenancy agreement and to determine the suitability of the accommodation depending on your needs and your ability to pay the rent. You should not sign a tenancy agreement with any accommodation provider until you are completely happy with your choice.

If you are bringing a TV set or watching TV as it is broadcast on any device include a laptop or mobile phone, you will require your own TV licence. This property is not suitable for families with children. Pets are not permitted in the accommodation. Smoking is not permitted inside the accommodation. There are no parking facilities.
