The University of Suffolk has today been recognised by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026, where it has been named runner-up for both Teaching Quality and Student Experience.
The guide, which reviews universities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, compiles the results using data such as graduate prospects, entry requirements and student results, as well as student feedback from the annual National Student Survey.
The University of Suffolk has had a successful year, not only climbing in the national rankings in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026 and the Guardian University Guide 2026 but also winning the accolade of University of the Year at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2025 as voted for by students.
The University also reported scores above the national average in all themes in the latest National Student Survey.
Professor Jenny Higham, Vice-Chancellor, University of Suffolk said: “We are delighted to be recognised as runners-up for both Teaching Quality and Student Experience by The Times and Sunday Times and to be ranked second for Teaching Satisfaction by the Guardian.
“To achieve this recognition as a young university highlights the strength of our learning and teaching and the exceptional experiences we provide. Our focus on delivering an outstanding academic and supportive environment is clearly making a positive impact.”
Lee-Ann Durrant, President of Education at the University of Suffolk Students’ Union, said: “What an achievement! To be recognised for teaching excellence and great student experience is fantastic.
"At the Students’ Union we are passionate about providing services and activities which are by students, for students, and proud to be a part of supporting the student body in complementing their studies and ensuring that the student voice is heard throughout the University.”
The University is holding two Open Days this autumn (Saturday 4 October and Saturday 15 November) where prospective students can visit the campus, tour the facilities as well as meet with lecturers and current students.
