A festive fair showcasing the best local small businesses and start-ups is being held at the University of Suffolk.

The first of what the university hopes will become an annual event will take place in its flagship Waterfront Building on Thursday 14 December from 11am to 2pm.

As well as small local businesses showcasing and selling, the Entrepreneurs Festive Fair will also be welcoming business mentors, funders and industry experts to offer support and advice to stall holders.

The event will showcase products and services from inventive and creative individuals as diverse as cake and chocolate makers to car service experts and social media professionals.

Stalls at the fair are open to both business owners and hobbyists, as well as those just starting out with their entrepreneurial journey.

Hannah Page, the university’s enterprise and entrepreneurship officer, said the event will give people the opportunity to celebrate unique local businesses.

“This will be a brilliant chance for local people to support unique small businesses and to showcase the entrepreneurship eco system we have in and around Ipswich.

“Start-ups, small businesses and experts will all be under one roof, networking and we are hoping to create a new annual trading and learning experience.

“We are really excited about the fair and look forward to local people joining us to see what Ipswich’s entrepreneurs have to offer them.”
