Theo Jones is an award-winning architectural designer, maker, researcher, and teacher based in London. He works in architecture as an Associate at Architecture for London, teaches as a founder of Green Mat Workshop, and formed the design collective Taxonomy. Theo was awarded the 2019 RIBA Journal drawing prize and has held exhibitions with New London Architecture, The Bartlett and the RIBA. He studied architecture at Oxford Brookes University and The Bartlett School of Architecture.

His current research interests include the craft of making, identity, and borders. Theo’s work considers people as social and political actors, designing with implicit sustainability, low energy techniques and historical awareness. His use of playful narratives explore how small human interactions can impact the built environment. He has lectured at the Royal Academy of Arts, London Festival of Architecture, UAL, Oxford Brookes University and the University of Nottingham. His work has been published by the Association of Architectural Educators, Design Boom, Bustler and the RIBA Journal.

Green Mat Workshop deliver lectures, creative brief orientated teaching and skill‑focused workshops across the UK. These are bespoke and have included paper crafted models, architectural plaster casting, 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, architectural soldering, portfolio design, CV creation, post‑digital drawing and design software skills.
