Cindy is a lecturer on the MSc Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling course. She has a particular interest in resilience and in making CBT more accessible through metaphor and experiential learning. She developed and delivers the How to Be Resilient programme, which is currently the focus of a developing research project.

Cindy has presented at the University of Suffolk Student Research Conference and will be speaking on a panel at the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies Congress in September 2025. Her first academic paper is currently in draft for publication.

Cindy has a background in coaching and leadership roles within UK secondary schools, as well as experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy therapist in the NHS and Lead Coach with Unstoppable Media Group.

Cindy’s passion for personal growth and dedication to helping others navigate challenges have been instrumental in shaping her career. Cindy leads by example, embodying a collaborative and positive approach, and creates an environment where both staff and students are motivated to work to the best of their abilities. 

Cindy holds an interest in research focused on providing psychological support for individuals who are at risk for or have been diagnosed with Huntington's Disease. Recognising the unique challenges and complexities associated with this condition, she is passionate about exploring innovative approaches to enhance the psychological well-being and quality of life for affected individuals and their families.  

Cindy is also interested in the field of personal resilience. She has developed a course on resilience training that is currently being delivered within the NHS trust where she works. 

Cindy is a member of the BABCP and BACP and working towards accreditation with both.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in theatre directing and secondary education from Texas State University, and an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling from the University of Suffolk.
