Thomas recently graduated in 2022 from the University of Suffolk’s with a first-class Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation degree and is currently the University’s Sustainability and Built Environment Coordinator. He has a strong knowledge of sustainability, biodiversity, and statistics. His role is principally concerned with developing and accelerating the implementation of the University’s Climate Action Plan and assisting in built environment and energy efficiency infrastructure projects as we work towards achieving net zero for our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. Thomas is currently working on designing and implementing the University’s Well Being Allotment and assisting in the roll out of the campus building management systems (BMS) upgrade. Additionally, Thomas is responsible for implementing and increasing campus biodiversity through managing projects such as the Wildflower Meadow and Wildlife Garden in conjunction with Justine Oakes (Head of Sustainability and Programmes). Thomas’ role will also promote and increase student engagement with sustainability.

Previously, Thomas was a Student Ambassador for all three years of his studies and completed a micro placement with Justine during the summer of 2022.

Thomas has also been an intern for 7 months with Suffolk Archives working at their Ipswich Branch, The Hold. During his time, Thomas produced numerous online displays including one on the history of Hardwick Heath.
