Veronica Garbett

Veronica is a Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management, teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. A Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Academic Associate Member and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she brings extensive experience from higher education and the wider business community. Veronica also serves as a Non-Executive Director for a Community Interest Company, contributing her expertise to community-focused enterprise. Prior to joining academia, she worked within investment banking and recruitment before developing a portfolio career encompassing business coaching, consultancy, and leadership training. She holds an Masters Business Administration (MBA) in Developing Businesses, a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP) and is a qualified NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier (IQA).

Veronica is passionate about developing the next generation of people professionals and leaders. Her teaching focuses on reflective practice, employability, and the application of contemporary HR and management theory to real-world contexts. She is an accredited business coach and NLP practitioner and has contributed to numerous professional development and assessment initiatives, including NVQ programmes and assessment centres for a range of organisations. Dedicated to supporting both emerging and experienced managers, Veronica’s work emphasises confidence, capability, and continuous professional growth.
