Sue supports the Research Directorate (RD) team at the University of Suffolk working with Professor Emma Bond, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Andreea Tocca, Head of Research Development. Sue is responsible for all research engagement activities and research governance within the Research Directorate, which comprises the Research Office, Research Institutes and Suffolk Doctoral College. Sue is also the Committee Secretary for Research Management Group and Research & Enterprise Committees and manages the Research Systems Administrator post. As PA to Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, Sue manages diary commitments, monitors all the RD budgets and deals with all research related matters arising in the PVC-R's office.

Sue has previously worked in the University as PA to the Dean of School for Law and Social Sciences to Professor Noel Smith.

Sue has a BSc (Hons) degree in Geography and has over 32 years experience working in the public, private and voluntary sectors. She has previously worked as Chapman Centre Manager - running a day centre for homeless people and has worked in other notable charities in Ipswich as well as working at Suffolk Police, Ipswich Member of Parliament's office and at University College London to name a few.

Outside of work, Sue is involved with community engagements and is an experienced Trustee and board member. Sue has volunteered in several charities in Ipswich, namely Suffolk Refugee Support, ISCRE and Suffolk Law Centre (also a founder member of SLC), Help Our Homeless and is a current Trustee at Ipswich Community Media & Learning and Emmaus Suffolk.
