In 2018, Rachael qualified as a physiotherapist, graduating from the University of Essex having studied the physiotherapy MSc (pre-reg) programme. Prior to this, Rachael gained an honours degree in Sports Science at the University of Greenwich.
Since qualifying as a physiotherapist, Rachael has completed her band 5 and 6 rotations before specialising in respiratory care. Here Rachael has worked in variety of settings ranging from critical care, burns and plastics, surgical and medical wards, outpatients and the community. Most recently working in a specialist respiratory practitioner role in addition to being the team lead for pulmonary rehabilitation in Mid Essex. Supporting and leading the team through a recent accreditation process.
In 2024, Rachael successfully completed her non-medical prescribing course at Anglian Ruskin University. Rachael has a keen interest in bronchiectasis and COPD management.
Prior to working in higher education, Rachael has regularly been a practice placement educator for students throughout her career. Rachael has supported many students throughout their time on placements and regularly completing training sessions to enhance learning and experiences.
