Patrice Ward is a GDC-registered Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist whose career spans over two decades of clinical practice and advanced academic training. She began her professional journey at the University of the West Indies, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree before practising dentistry for 18 years. In 2016, she completed her MSc in Aesthetic Dentistry at King’s College London, a milestone that strengthened her interest in contemporary treatment approaches and patient-centred care. After relocating to the UK, Patrice further broadened her expertise by completing an MSc in Advanced General Dental Practice at Ulster University.

Patrice brings a wealth of clinical insight, academic dedication, and a strong commitment to preventive dentistry to her role within the University. She is particularly passionate about the evolving contributions of dental therapists within modern oral healthcare and maintains active involvement in professional organisations as part of her dedication to lifelong learning. Patrice aims to support and inspire students while advocating for oral health as an essential component of overall wellbeing.

Although new to teaching, Patrice brings extensive clinical expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for developing the next generation of dental professionals. Her experience as a dentist for 18 years, combined with her roles as a dental therapist and hygienist in the UK, gives her a well-rounded understanding of patient care and the evolving responsibilities within the profession.
