Julie has been a  registered nurse since the early 1980’s, and the Moving & Handling Trainer for the University of Suffolk, from December 2018. Julie has worked in the NHS and the private sector as a nurse. Julie also worked for an independent local company for fifteen years teaching moving and handling all over the country at universities and local trusts.  

Julie qualified as a Moving and Handling trainer in 2005 and has trained at numerous universities around the country and here at the University of Suffolk training the following cohorts:- Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Childrens Nursing, Midwives, Radiology, Operating Department Practitioners, Paramedics, Erasmus & Nursing Associate students. Outside of the University, she has experience training Podiatrists, Community staff and cottage hospitals in East Anglia and Oxfordshire. 

Julie's knowledge has grown over the years . She now belongs to the National Back Exchange where there are numerous resources to access, including local groups where she has been a member since 2018. 

Julie makes use of the Health & Safety Executive, the CQC and Skills for Health websites. She also communicate with the local hospitals where our students are placed, for moving and handling updates.
