Jessica Garrity

Jess originally joined the External Relations team as a Student Recruitment Officer in 2021, and joined the International team in January 2022. In her role, she is working to connect with students across the world to help them navigate the process of becoming an international student at the University of Suffolk, and to grow the University's presence in international higher education.

Jessica graduated in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and TESOL and in 2021 with a master's in TESOL and Applied Linguistics. During her time at Manchester Metropolitan University, she undertook an internship within the International Office in International Events and Study Abroad. Previously, she has worked as an English teacher in both Spain and South Korea.

She is currently studying at the University of Suffolk for her PhD in Education, using eye-tracking technology to investigate how students with English as an additional language read academic texts in English and how to shape academic English teaching standards across the sector.
