Jane is a Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography at the University of Suffolk and Module Leader across a range of courses including, BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, BSc (Hons) Oncology and Radiotherapy Technology, MA in Education for Health and Social Care Professionals, Certificate in Higher Education Practice, MA Innovation and Leadership in Health and Social Care/Clinical Practice, Radiography Study Programme for Dental Practice Assistants and the Interprofessional Education Programme. Jane is also an Associate Professor in the School of Health and Sports Sciences.
Jane is a committee member of the National Association of Educators in Practice (NAEP), an Accredited External Assessor for the Society and College of Radiographers and her other commitments, include being a reviewer for two national and international peer review journals and has previously been an external examiner at other higher education institutions across the UK.
Jane is currently undertaking a PhD with the University of Brighton.
Jane's current teaching areas are Sociological Issues and the NHS, Communication & Interpersonal skills, Professional Practice and Personal and Work Place Coaching. She is the Practice Placement Co-ordinator for the undergraduate radiography programmes and assumes responsibility for the practice placement experience of students. Jane is keen to bridge the gap between Higher Education Institutions and Imaging Departments so that we can work more closely together for the benefit of both the service users and also the profession of radiography.
Her main interests lie in practice education, enhanced communication skills, emotional intelligence, coaching, the student experience, recruitment and retention of students, supporting practice staff and students, and Interprofessional and Masters Education.
All aspects of diagnostic radiography and imaging. Jane has a special interest in Paediatrics and also the following areas; are e-learning, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), practice education, preparing students for practice, reflective practice, workplace stress, coaching and supporting and motivating others.
