James works as part of the Students Records Team within Registry Services, where he is responsible for maintaining accurate, compliant, and secure institutional data throughout the student lifecycle. He began his career within the education sector through a Level 3 Data Support Technician apprenticeship at Suffolk New College (Jan 2024 to Aug 2025), passing and achieving the highest grade. His training in data management, validation, course management, and technical support has provided a strong foundation to be accepted for his new role at the University of Suffolk, which he joined in March 2026.
Outside of his data‑focused work, James is a passionate creative with ambitions to become a fantasy author, currently developing several dragon‑filled book series and novels. He enjoys baking, traditional art, football, golf, gaming, and an ever-growing reading list, alongside a long‑standing fascination with historical battles – from Ancient Roman to the Napoleonic era – an interest originally inspired by the historical strategy BBC TV series – Time Commanders.
