Gemma is a lecturer in diagnostic radiography and is the course leader for the PgC Paediatric Imaging and PgC Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry courses. She is also the admissions tutor for the BSc and MSc (pre-registration) Diagnostic Radiography programmes.
Gemma joined the University of Suffolk academic team in 2021. She is a diagnostic radiographer by background and before joining the university was a senior diagnostic radiographer in the NHS.
In 2022, Gemma completed her postgraduate certificate in Academic Practice where she achieved Fellowship status with Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She is now working towards her Senior Fellowship (SFHEA). Gemma is also undertaking her master’s in education studies.
Gemma teaches on several modules of the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography and MSc (pre-registration) Diagnostic Radiography course. She also teaches on the PgC Paediatric Imaging course. She is the module leader for Imaging 1 (level 4), Integrated Care and Multidiscplinary Working (level 7) and Suspected Physical Abuse in Paediatrics (level 7).
Gemma is the link lecturer for students placed at James Paget University Hospital.
Gemma has participated in multiple clinical audits, mainly focussed on image quality and paediatric radiography.
Gemma is a member of the East Anglia Hub of the Community for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR).
