Education Agents

The University of Suffolk works with education agents, also known as representatives, to support prospective students with their application to study abroad.

Education agents are appointed by universities to offer information, advice and guidance to students searching for the right institution and course as well as helping students throughout the application and UK visa and immigration processes.

Some education agents will charge a fee for their services, and we recommend that you clarify all charges in advance to understand what this fee includes. Future students of the University of Suffolk are recommended to check whether an education agent is an official representative of our University before applying. Our contracted education agents undergo regular training to ensure the information they provide future students is accurate. We also monitor the ongoing performance of our agents and welcome feedback from students that have used one of our agents.

Any deposits or tuition fees must be paid directly to the University of Suffolk and not sent via a representative.

The University of Suffolk pays a referral fee to agents that successfully support students through to enrolment. This fee is based on a percentage of the students first year tuition fee. This fee recognises the service provided by the agent to students. Use of an agent’s services does not influence the chance of students being accepted to study at the University of Suffolk.

It’s important to choose the education agent that is right for you. We recommend checking our list of official agents online as these companies have been vetted by the University of Suffolk and they meet our minimum standards. Support varies by agent, with some having an in-person presence and some using digital channels to connect with students. We recommend doing thorough research to choose the agent that best fits your needs

Compliance and Complaints

The University of Suffolk holds its representatives to high standards to ensure that students are well supported and protected from malpractice. We expect our agents to provide accurate and up-to-date information and conduct themselves with integrity.

The University of Suffolk has signed the UK Agent Quality Framework pledge to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring our agents are held to high standards and offer quality support to applicants.

If you want to raise a complaint about one of our contracted agents, please follow the guidance in our Applicant Appeals and Complaints Procedure

If you have any questions regarding our work with agents, please get in touch.

We work with agents from a wide range of countries. To find an agent operating in your country, visit your country page.

Master agents, or aggregators, are large companies that manage relationships with smaller agents, also known as sub-agents.  If you are being supported by a sub-agent, we recommend that you confirm their affiliation with one of our approved agents.
