Welcome Week

Welcome Week for undergraduate courses starting at our Ipswich campus will be from 22 - 26 September 2025.

Welcome Week is your introduction to the University of Suffolk, your course and university life! You will need to attend your Welcome Week registration session to start your course. Once we have further detail about courses start dates, we will post it here. This page will be updated regularly with any changes/additions so please check back.

There will also be lots of events to welcome you to campus and help you meet your course mates and other new students. You can also check out events run by our Students’ Union on their website.

When you first arrive on campus and register for induction you will be asked to show Photo ID (such as passport, driving license, national identity card, PASS card or similar proof of age document.) Please ensure you bring this ID with you. If you cannot present ID at registration, you will be asked to visit the Student Centre to have it checked during Induction week. If you have any questions about acceptable ID documents, please contact the Student Centre.

Once your ID has been checked we will issue you with your University ID card, lanyard and card holder. If you have enrolled and uploaded a photograph for your ID card more than 72 hours before your first day, we will aim to have this available for you to collect when you arrive on campus.

Late Starters

If you join the University after the first day of your course induction, don’t worry. Start attending sessions as soon as you can and be sure to visit Brightspace to familiarise yourself with induction information. The Student Centre is on hand to help you if you have any general questions about getting started at University. Remember there is no such thing as a silly question!
