Registration and Right to Study
Registration and collecting your Student ID is the final step for you to enrol at the University of Suffolk. You can do this anytime from 10 September 2026, but you must have completed your enrolment task online at least 72 hours before.
All you need to do is book a slot to collect your Student ID. You will need to come to the Waterfront Building and bring with you a form of ID. During this slot we will check your ID and confirm your details.
All new students, including British and Irish nationals, are required to demonstrate they have the Right to Study in the UK. The information you need to bring with you on your first day depends on your immigration permission or nationality – see below for more details.
All international students with a visa must complete their Right to Study checks as the first step upon arrival. You should create a UKVI account to access your eVisa and carefully check this before travelling. Upon arrival you must attend your Right to Study check with your passport and eVisa. Once your Right to Study check is complete you will be sent a link to complete your enrolment.
Right to Study Checks
The University is required to check that all of its students, UK and international, have the right to study in the UK. You are required to demonstrate you have sufficient RTS before you commence your studies at the University. Students who fail to provide the relevant right to study documentation when requested by the university will be withdrawn.
An in-person right to study check must be completed before you can start your course and at any point your immigration circumstances change, e.g. you obtain a new visa, or no longer require a visa because you have obtained UK nationality.
If you have any questions regarding your Right to Study check, please email us at studentlife@uos.ac.uk.
