"The EmpowerHER project with Iceni, supporting women with alcohol and substance misuse". This seminar will explore the findings from an Innovate UK funded, women-only programme, including the issues facing women who are trying to overcome alcohol and substance misuse and the importance of the support they receive from Iceni.

Our next University of Suffolk  Research Unlocked seminar series presenters will be Dr Linda Cooper, Associate Professor and Deputy Director for the Institute for Social Justice and Crime and Paige Marrett, Research Associate and Psychology Masters student.  They will be joined by Alison Oxborough, Community Liaison and Corporate Fundraising Lead and Nicole Sadler, Operations Manager from Iceni

Iceni Ipswich and the ISJC teamed up to create the “EmpowerHER” project in late 2025.  The pilot 12-week project was launched in November and finished in February 2026.

This session will be the second of our Pan‑University Online Research Seminar Series 2026, a new platform created to spotlight exceptional research taking place across the University of Suffolk’s Schools and Research Institutes.

This series brings together early career researchers, students, academic and professional services staff, as well as members of our wider community. It offers an open and accessible space to learn, share ideas and build connections.
