Former University of Suffolk Chancellor and women’s rights activist Helen Pankhurst CBE and Suffolk MP Jess Asato will discuss:

Equality in democracy: Overcoming barriers and improving political representation

Writer, academic and women's rights activist Helen Pankhurst CBE, great-granddaughter of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst and first Chancellor of the University of Suffolk will be in conversation with Lowestoft MP Jess Asato about improving political representation - past, present and future.

Jess will discuss her experience of being a woman in Parliament, including referencing her legal action against Elon Musk's xAI after its chatbot Grok created fake sexualised images and videos of her.

Open Lectures will take place on the University campus and at venues outside Ipswich throughout the year.

Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start.

Parking

Guests can park in the main University Car Park, Long Street, IP4 1LQ from 4.45pm-9.30pm. Guests must pay £2.00 to park either via the machine in the Waterfront Building or the RingGo app.

Please do not park in The Hold car park, as you will receive a PCN.
