We are excited to invite you to a launch event at the University of Suffolk, where we will introduce key developments for our research community.

The University has successfully secured Assured Organisational Connectivity (AOC) agreement with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) — a milestone that now enables accredited researchers to securely access high-quality, de-identified datasets via the Secure Research Service (SRS) and Integrated Data Service (IDS). This project, led by Dr Cristian Dogaru, greatly enhances our ability to conduct advanced data-driven research, supporting evidence-based policymaking and interdisciplinary collaboration.

In addition to this achievement, we are inviting academics, students, and external collaborators to share their ideas, feedback, and perspectives on the development of the planned Data Research & Quantitative Methods Society (DRQMS) at the University of Suffolk.

This consultation will explore how a DRQMS could serve as a hub for knowledge exchange, training, and research partnerships, bringing together a community of scholars and professionals who want to explore and apply innovative data analysis techniques.

What to expect

At this event, you’ll:

  • Learn about the AOC agreement and the new opportunities it opens up for data research
  • Hear about exciting ongoing research projects
  • Find out about the vision, goals, and structure of DRQMS
  • Participate in an interactive session focused on exploring potential collaborations with others in the field

Who should attend?

This event will be valuable for:

  • Academics and researchers interested in using quantitative methods and data-driven research
  • Professionals and policymakers who work with statistical analysis and data insights
  • Students eager to learn about or get involved in quantitative and big data research
