Julie Murray is a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Suffolk and an experienced marketing and business practitioner. Her career spans senior leadership roles with organisations including Royal Mail and Notcutts, agency and consultancy work, and running her own business. She brings this breadth of experience into her teaching, connecting academic theory with the decisions, challenges and opportunities businesses face in the real world.

Julie specialises in marketing strategy, brand, customer experience, communications and the increasingly important role of AI and technology in business. She is particularly interested in how organisations can combine creativity, commercial thinking and a strong understanding of people to create meaningful customer and business outcomes.

Julie believes learning is most powerful when students can see how ideas translate into practice. Her teaching focuses on developing not only subject knowledge, but also the self-awareness, confidence, decision-making and professional skills that enable students to contribute effectively in the workplace.

Alongside her role at the University of Suffolk, Julie is a business partner at Blunt House, a Suffolk-based marketing agency bringing together strategic thinking, creativity and specialist expertise. She is an accredited business and life coach and a Clarity 4D practitioner, and has extensive experience supporting individuals, teams and organisations to develop their capabilities and achieve their ambitions.

Julie is committed to strengthening the relationship between education and employers, creating opportunities for students to learn from real business challenges and helping them understand their own strengths, identify opportunities and develop the confidence to shape their professional futures.
