Alice joined the University of Suffolk in January 2022 as Development Director, overseeing the University’s alumni relations, fundraising and development activity. Her background is in arts and charity fundraising and income generation, development and operations management. She has many years’ experience in charity management and several in senior leadership positions. Alice has an MA in English Literature from the University of Leeds and before this she studied at Trinity College, Dublin and University of California, San Diego as part of her Higher Education journey.

Before joining the University, Alice was Head of Fundraising at a regional charity where she built and lead a team that achieved seven-figure successes across a large portfolio of income streams including membership, corporate development and partnerships, grants and trusts, gifts in Wills, commemorative giving and individual philanthropy. Prior to this she ran multi-award-winning off-west-end theatre Southwark Playhouse, seeing its successful relocation into larger premises where it became the biggest and most prolific venue on the London fringe. She led on financial and operational management, legal and compliance and oversaw departments including marketing, press and publicity, education and outreach, production, visitor experience and sales.

Alice has been very lucky to work for organisations that support education, the arts and our green spaces - all causes that are close to her heart. Early in her career she worked briefly in PR and as Volunteering Manager for a childrens’ theatre. The skills and hobbies she is embarrassed to say she has never kept up include water sports, yoga, playing the harp and Spanish. She is also a qualified Nutritional Therapist.
