University of Suffolk at Suffolk New College

Suffolk New College is situated in the Education Quarter of Ipswich.

Set within a modern £70m building, which opened in 2009, the College is situated a few minutes walk from the main University of Suffolk, Waterfront campus. It is close to the town centre, the railway station and is on several major bus routes.

Suffolk New College offers excellent facilities including a laboratory fitted with new equipment for concrete testing, tensile analysis and assessing the engineering properties of soil.

The University of Suffolk at Suffolk New College offers a HNC and HND in Construction and the Built Environment, delivered on a day-release basis. Both the HNC and HND are Pearson Higher National awards delivered, assessed and quality assured by Suffolk New College, working in partnership with the University of Suffolk

The courses are specifically aimed at providing a broad-based but highly relevant qualification in support of professional development across a wide range of construction roles including design, construction management, estimating, quantity surveying, facilities management and recycling.

The University of Suffolk at Suffolk New College offer four routes in the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. We offer the Certificate in Education (Lifelong Learning Sector) (CertEd) and the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PGCE) as either a one year full-time or two years part-time course. These qualifications are aimed at both those who wish to learn to teach and those who are already teaching, tutoring or training in community and adult education, work-based provision, further education, offender education and the voluntary sector.
