Hello! I’m Sophie, a 22-year-old who has just finished her final year of university, eek! Before university I studied Creative Media Production at Suffolk New College. My original plan for when I finished college was to find a job and simply work. I had no specific career in mind and saw no point in applying for university. However, that plan changed, and I decided to apply for a Criminology and Sociology course at the University of Suffolk.
Throughout my three years at the University of Suffolk, both the Criminology and Sociology modules have opened my mind up to alternate ways of thinking about various topics and aspects of life. Although my three years at university were very trying at times (with essays to write and deadlines to meet), they were also very productive, thought-provoking and enjoyable. I didn’t think I would say this, but I think I am going to miss writing essays etc.
Looking back over the past three years, I am so glad that I made the decision to apply for university. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have grown into the person that I am today (this sounds very cliché, I know!), have the mindset that I have now or the skills which I am now equipped with. Overall, I am very grateful to have experienced university and to have been given the opportunity to study at university, so I owe a huge thank you to the University of Suffolk.
