Rachel Larkum

Lecturer in Graphic Design & Illustration

Rachel is a freelance graphic designer and originally trained at Edinburgh College of Art before completing an MA in Animation at the Royal College of Art. She has a broad range of creative experience, originally working as an animator in 2D animation in London and Sydney, Australia. She then moved into CGI, working on a children’s TV series for ITV and then the games industry, for Sony Computer Entertainment. Her 3D animation work has also led to roles as an animator, creating interactives for Cartoon Network on the Powerpuff girls and Dexters. Over the years her work has naturally moved into graphic design and motion graphics and she recently worked as a full-time graphic designer for the rail industry in London. She now continues to freelance as a graphic designer, working with a variety of clients, within print, digital and animation, combining this with lecturing. 

Rachel currently teaches part-time at the University of Suffolk and Cambridge School of Art, but has had a range of lecturing experience, including teaching at London College of Communication, Cambridge School of Visual Performing Arts, Glasgow School of Art, Edinburgh College of Art, Norwich School of Art, Wimbledon School of Art, London South Bank University and Greenwich University.
