Paul has extensive experience of working on a range of both major Civil Engineering and Commercial Building projects in technical and managerial roles and has completed  Management Trainee programmes with John Laing Construction and the CIOB professional examinations lead to Chartered Status. Further professional experience included Broadgate in London in the expanding  the infrastructure at Stansted airport and Lakeside shopping centre. Moving into teaching after completing a Cert Ed he has developed extensive construction teaching and training experience in technical and management subjects at all levels from basic site operative, apprentice & technician through to site managers and commercial technical staff from Level 1 to Level 7. He also has experience of developing and providing bespoke commercial construction training solutions for several high profile projects in partnership with clients and contractors.

In a senior role for the CIOB he worked with accredited Universities, in the renewing, developing and piloting a range of new professional assessments, and routes to Chartered status. He also has experience working for an international Project Management and Quantity Surveying Consultancy to develop and integrate their systems and procedures.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, has an MSc in Construction Management, and an MBA. He recently achieved his NEBOSH Cert. Paul is a past Chair of CIC East and had committee roles with other regional construction bodies including Constructing Excellence.  He is working with Bury Town Trust to develop local heritage skills training.
