Mike is building engagement between the local business community and the Leadership Academy within Suffolk Business School to fill a local gap in leadership and management skills.
Mike was born in Yorkshire but spent most of his childhood in Oxfordshire. He spent 13 years in the Royal Air Force, where his tours of duty included 3 years with NATO in Oslo and over 7 years as personal assistant to chiefs of staff in the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall.
After leaving the RAF, he moved to Northern Italy and then onto sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. There followed 25 years in the United States, in both Nevada and metropolitan New York, where Mike honed his skills as a sales professional and manager with companies such as AT&T, CenturyLink, and T-Mobile, receiving many awards for individual and team performance.
During the latter part of his time in the US, Mike returned to higher education and received his BSc in Business Management from Western Governors University in 2015. Having been bitten by the education bug, Mike then went on to graduate with an MSc in Management and Leadership followed by an MBA from the same institution.
On returning to the UK in 2019, Mike returned to his birth town of Harrogate and became a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
