Career Overview

Mary Carter completed her training at the West Suffolk Hospital (WSH) in 1992 and was a senior staff nurse/ward manager in Trauma and Orthopaedics for 10 years. This was followed by working as a Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF) at the WSH for one year, followed by a move to Ipswich Hospital where she was a CPF for 6 years. Mary moved into Nurse Education and joined Suffolk as a Lecturer in September 2009.

Teaching and Other Responsibilities

Mary is an Adult Nursing Pre-Registration Lecturer and her background is in clinical facilitation to pre-registration nurses in practice, Trauma and Orthopaedics. Mary teaches across the curriculum but has an acute focus.

Research Interests and Publications

Mary is currently undertaking a post-graduate certificate in Education for Health and Social Care Professionals.
